About Mariellé Anzelone
Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1:13PM My work connects people to nature, with a focus on urban ecological issues, especially native flora.
I have lived among the plants of the New Jersey-New York metro area for nearly all of my life. This love of flora led to my founding NYC Wildflower Week, an organization that offers free programs to get New Yorkers out into nature in the Big Apple. My interest is in urban biodiversity at the intersection of ecology, economics, and human health. I’m an Op-Ed Contributor to The New York Times and am writing my first book. Also examining current conditions, threats, and policy recommendations to preserve and restore native biodiversity in the city and region as an essential foundation of our sustainable future.
Let's work together. I write, lecture, consult and explore local nature.
